Matthew 6:33 New Living Translation (NLT)
33 Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.
Matthew 6:33 Amplified Bible (AMP)
33 But first and most importantly seek (aim at, strive after) His kingdom and His righteousness [His way of doing and being right—the attitude and character of God], and all these things will be given to you also.
Matthew 6:33 The Message (MSG)
Steep your life in God-reality, God-initiative, God-provisions. Don’t worry about missing out. You’ll find all your everyday human concerns will be met.
This spoke in a special way to me today. Not that I think I’m always trying to “get” rather than “give”, but it just always helps me gain better perspective when I am feeling overwhelmed and over-scheduled. Sometimes in the business of “life” I tend to lose focus on most important things… (and I don’t think I’m the only one…).
Application is simple #1 – Aim for the “kingdom” things and doing the “Christ-like” things with Godly character, #2 Don’t worry, #3 He will give me everything I need – all my human needs will be met. It may be easier said than done… but I must trust in Him and trust in His Word.
God, first of all, forgive me when I start to question or get concerned about my “daily life”. You are my biggest support, my encourager and my guide. Steer me and correct me when I start focusing things other than you and your kingdom. I trust you and I trust that you will take care of me when I prioritize my thoughts and focus around you. You are the center of my life. I love you.
