S-1 Peter 5:6-1 (NLT)6 So humble yourselves under the mighty power of God, and at the right time he will lift you up in honor. 7 Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.
8 Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour.9 Stand firm against him, and be strong in your faith. Remember that your family of believers[a] all over the world is going through the same kind of suffering you are.
10 In his kindness God called you to share in his eternal glory by means of Christ Jesus. So after you have suffered a little while, he will restore, support, and strengthen you, and he will place you on a firm foundation.
O- PAINFUL JOURNEY SURVIVAL GUIDE
Step one- HUMBLE myself and God will place his hands above me to protect and shield, and at the same time, His hands are below to comfort and carry me through.
Step two –STAY ALERT and don’t get wrapped up in the circumstance, my emotions, allowing the enemy to confuse and lead me to sin. The English Standard Version, verse 8: Be sober-minded.
Step three-RECOGNIZE I am not alone- everyone goes through similar seasons of suffering.
Step four- ACKNOWLEDGE GOD even when my suffering may seem long and too much to handle. God’s timing is perfect for His grace to be revealed. He will restore, confirm, strengthen and establish who I am in Christ.
A- How humbling is it that God’s grace is always available and sufficient, especially during my deepest pains, intense sufferings and harshest journeys. How amazing is it that God is actively, directly, and personally involved in my sufferings.
P- You are my provider, protector and comforter. I boldly call out to You and humble myself. I am giving You my heartache, the burdens I selfishly try to carry on my own, and confess my sins which displease You, my God. For You care about me! And in Your timing may the suffering be removed, giving You all honor and glory.
I am aware of You and accept your gift of grace. In the darkest of valleys, You are the only one who can see me through. In your mighty powerful name, Amen.
