Romans 12:9-10 NLT

Don’t just pretend to love others.  Really love them.  Hate what is wrong.  Hold tightly to what is good.  Love each other with genuine affection, and take delight in honoring each other.

“Don’t just PRETEND to love others.  Really love them.  Take delight in honoring them.”  What a statement!  This verse has been continuously running through my mind in light of the recent events that have been going on around us.  We are not wired to hate.  WE’RE WIRED TO LOVE.

I really like this from Rick Warren:

“Love is the only thing that can change the unchangeable.  Love invigorates.  Love revitalizes.  Love renews.  Love refreshes.  Love is the most powerful force in the universe, because God…is…Love.  It doesn’t say He has love; it says He is love.  Love heals what cannot otherwise be healed.  Love uplifts.  Love strengthens.  Love energizes.  Love empowers.”

Love God.  Love people.  Jesus himself said that EVERYTHING hangs from these commands.  Anything less is DIShonorable to the Creator and His creation.

God, help us to see all people the way you see them.  To really love them.  To hate what is wrong.  To take delight in honoring the pinnacle of your creation.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.
