John 4:14 (NLT)

“But those who drink the water I give will never be thirsty again. It becomes a fresh, bubbling spring within them, giving them eternal life.”

O –

I was listening to the song “In the River” this morning, and the lyric, “Spring up a well in me” made me think of this verse.  When we look for other things to fill us, we will always thirst more.  But Jesus offers Himself, the Living Water, and when we drink of Him, we never thirst again!  He is the only one who satisfies!

A –

I waste a lot of time and energy trying to get full, be satisfied, with things other than Jesus.  The only way to be satisfied is to drink of Him.  What does that mean to “drink”?  To take Him all the way into myself, to let Him permeate every aspect of my life:  my attitude, my thought life, my words, my actions, my motives, the way I respond, the way I love.  Everything.  All of Him, in all of me!

Lord, thank You that You offer Yourself as the Living Water, the only thing that satisfies!  Thank You that we can come and freely drink.  In Jesus Name I pray, Amen.
