SOAP: Consistency

1 Corinthians 15:58 New Living Translation (NLT)

So, my dear brothers and sisters, be strong and immovable. Always work enthusiastically for the Lord, for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless.

Consistency.  That’s a word that keeps coming to mind for me lately.  That’s what we need.  That’s what God wants.  That’s what our loved ones desire to see from us… consistency.  Consistency in our attitudes, our moods, our schedules, our work ethic.  Consistency in our habits, disciplines, activities, desires.

Paul, in his letter to the church in Corinth, is reminding us about what we believe, what we know to be true.  Go back and read from the beginning of chapter 15, so you can see why he says in v58, “So, be strong and immovable.”  Consistency.

In a fallen world, where consistency is a rare find, we know of One who is the unchanging, steadfast, immovable Rock! And because our faith is in Him, we don’t have to be tossed around by the waves.  We, too, can stand firm, hold true, be strong and immovable. Consistent.
