Just Praise Him!

Psalm 150

1 Praise the Lord!

Praise God in his sanctuary;
praise him in his mighty heaven!
2 Praise him for his mighty works;
praise his unequaled greatness!
3 Praise him with a blast of the ram’s horn;
praise him with the lyre and harp!
4 Praise him with the tambourine and dancing;
praise him with strings and flutes!
5 Praise him with a clash of cymbals;
praise him with loud clanging cymbals.
6 Let everything that breathes sing praises to the Lord!

Praise the Lord!

This was part of my reading this morning! What a way to start the day, huh? I’m not one of those bounce out of bed types. I’m slow to get going, and I often wake up thinking about what all awaits me that day, my to-do list, my responsibilities, deadlines, expectations. Sometimes my waking thoughts can be somewhat anxious.

I’ve learned the best way to counter that, is to get on up and see what God has to say instead. And today, what a treat! Let’s praise Him! Nothing changes a person’s outlook quite like praising the Lord. Try it with me. Get up early, sneak into your living room or kitchen, or other private place, and just raise your hands, smile, and just simply praise God for who He is.

There, that’s better! Much, much better.
